Scandinavian-inspired Nordic Spritz
Preparation time: 5 minutes | Makes: 1 glass of wine (210 ml or 7 oz)
Ingredients
- 30 ml (1 oz) elderflower liqueur from St-Germain
- 30 ml (1 oz) elderflower syrup from Gourmet Sauvage
- 120 ml (4 oz) sparkling wine from Domaine de Lavoie
- 30 ml (1 oz) sparkling water
- Elderflowers or elderberries, to taste (optional)
- Ice cubes
Preparation
- Fill a glass of wine with ice.
- Add the elderflower liqueur, elderflower syrup, sparkling wine, then finish with the sparkling water.
- Garnish with elderflowers or elderberries, to taste.
Cranberry Nordic Spritz
Preparation time: 5 minutes | Makes: 1 glass of wine (210 ml or 7 oz)
Ingredients
Cranberry Nordic Spritz
- 30 ml (1 oz) cranberry syrup (see recipe below)
- 15 ml (½ oz) Amermelade, a bitter Quebecois aperitif made with quinine and gentian or another aperitif or bitter liqueur of your choice
- 15 ml (½ oz) Sainte-Marie spiced rum
- 90 ml (3 oz) rosé sparkling wine from Domaine de Lavoie
- 60 ml (2 oz) white cranberry juice
- Fresh or frozen cranberries, to taste (optional)
- Ice cubes
Cranberry syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
Preparation
Cranberry Nordic Spritz
- Fill a glass of wine with ice.
- Add the cranberry syrup, the aperitif or bitter liqueur, the spiced rum, the rosé sparkling wine, then finish with the white cranberry juice.
- Garnish with few fresh or frozen cranberries, to taste (optional).
Cranberry syrup
- In a small saucepan, bring the water and the sugar to a simmer.
- Remove from heat, add the cranberries and let infuse for 1 hour.
- Remove the cranberries and strain the syrup through a sieve.
- Put the syrup in a container and allow to cool completely in the refrigerator. To use to syrup quickly, allow to cool on an ice-filled bowl and stir often until cool.
