A pivotal month at the year’s end, November is the precursor of winter, inviting us to prepare for its arrival. As the first chill sets in and days get shorter, our natural rhythm embraces slowness within the comfort of our homes. Back-to-school season already feels distant, and our vitality has been somewhat depleted. Yet the festive period ahead will demand energy, with its ever-growing checklists.

In this context, the frenzy of shopping and the sense of urgency tied to Black Friday can feel overwhelming. But there is another way to approach it by making more mindful choices. Rather than giving in to the impulse of fast consumption, perhaps this is the moment to refocus on your deeper needs and see this day as an opportunity to reconnect with what truly matters.

Black Friday: A Holiday Shopping Tradition

Known in Québec as Vendredi fou, Black Friday is a commercial event that originated in the United States in the 1960s. It began as retailers rushed to launch their holiday promotions the day after Thanksgiving, celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. Seen as the day for the year’s best deals, it has become a retail staple and marks the official start of holiday shopping.

Adopted more recently in Québec, this tradition sparks the same enthusiasm. Associated with gift planning and finding great deals for loved ones, the event continues to gain traction. According to the Barometer on Quebecers’ Purchase Intentions Ahead of Black Friday and the Holiday Season published in November 2024 by the Retail Council of Quebec (RCQ), more than half of consumers (56%) planned to shop on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, a 14% increase compared to the previous year

The Gift of Well-Being: A Gift That Feels Good

In a world of constant demands and relentless speed, gifts that allow us to slow down hold special value. Because taking time to pause and reconnect with ourselves has become essential, the thermal experience offers a haven of peace where body and mind can regenerate.

The benefits of thermotherapy are well known: muscle relaxation, improved blood circulation, toxin elimination… But beyond the physical effects, the mind also finds deep calm, a return to mental clarity often compromised by the intensity of our days. Combined with services such as massage therapy or treatments, the thermal experience brings a sense of serenity that positively and lastingly influences everyday life. In this sense, it’s a precious gift for yourself and a beautiful way to delight those you love.
