On September\u00a023,\u00a02025, for the second year in a row, Str\u00f8m Old Quebec was awarded the title of Canada\u2019s Best Day Spa by a panel of experts and consumers at the 2025\u00a0World Spa Awards.<\/p>\n

This prestigious award celebrates the excellence and diversity of our offerings and acknowledges the care our team puts into every moment of our visit: a warm welcome, body treatments, massages, the thermal experience, and gastronomy all come together to create a state of perfect serenity.<\/p>\n

This new recognition further establishes Str\u00f8m Old Quebec as a leader in the wellness industry, and an essential destination for rejuvenation during any visit to Qu\u00e9bec. It adds to a series of distinctions earned in recent years, all praising the unique character of the architecture and its harmonious integration into the landscape, cornerstones of Str\u00f8m\u2019s success.<\/p>\n

Among the honours highlighting the excellence of its facilities, Str\u00f8m received an award on February 5,\u00a02023, in the Centre de bien-\u00eatre, d\u2019entra\u00eenement et r\u00e9cr\u00e9atif<\/em>\u00a0category, along with the prestigious Project of the year mention at the 13th <\/sup>edition of the Grands Prix du Design gala.\u00a0Bringing together over 500 projects carried out by more than 800 professionals, the Grands Prix du Design aim to highlight the talent of Quebec designers and architects. It is one of the most aknowledged Quebec competitions in the industry.<\/p>\n

Last July, Str\u00f8m, who was nominated at the Architizer A+ Awards in the category Hospitality \u2013 Health Care & Wellness, was named the winner of the jury prize. Architizer is the largest international community of architects and its mission is to remind us of the importance of architecture, to which we owe the spaces that we live in. The A+ Awards celebrate the most innovative projects, which are judged by more than 400 leading experts from such rich and diverse fields as design, technology, real estate and fashion.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the year, in June, at a gala event in Capri, Italy, Str\u00f8m was named the winner in the spa \/ hotel spa category at the International Hotel & Property Award. These awards in design excellence are presented annually by\u00a0the Design Society<\/a>, a world-renowned association whose British branch coordinates these annual awards. The Design Society refers to the Str\u00f8m Nordic Spa as a true architectural gem, citing its innovative green roof and the talent with which LemayMichaud\u2019s architects have managed to integrate materials and stylistic elements that recall the harbour past of the Brown Basin, located at the very end of the magnificent Champlain Parkway along the river.<\/p>\n

Before that, in April 2019, the\u00a0Ordre des architectes du Qu\u00e9bec<\/em>\u00a0was honouring Str\u00f8m Nordic spa with the People\u2019s choice award. Here is an excerpt from what the jury said to justify its decision: \u201cFrom the exploratory and development phase of the project, the primary source of inspiration was the St. Lawrence River, its vastness and the quiet strength that it emanates. Then, given the geographical location of the site and its history linked to maritime transport, which contributed to the development of the city itself, the decision was taken to implement the project in its physical environment but also to anchor it in its history. As a result, the layout of the spa facilities is inspired by the footprint of the former harbour docks that once formed the banks of the river, creating volumes that alternate between full and empty.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Str\u00f8m Nordic Spa in Old Quebec<\/a> offers 32,000 square feet of indoor space divided into four pavilions, eight pools, some of which include waterfalls, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, two dry saunas and two steam baths, the largest flotation bath in North America, an infinity pool, a \u201clazy river\u201d hot water pool, 17 massage rooms and a gastronomic bistro with 70 seats, and an additional 30 seats on the terrace during summer months.<\/p>\n
